Sitting down to write this tribute to Kelseylinn I find myself unusually lost for words… I guess, no better place to start than the beginning…
I first met Kelseylinn in the fall of 2011. Our first time working together we did a photoshoot and then a bodypainting totaling about 7 hours! It was one of Kelseylinn’s first shoots and her first time posing nude. I was really honoured to shoot her, and it was lots of fun. She was surprised how comfortable she was posing for me, and she seemed a little surprised at how beautiful the pictures were turning out. I thought maybe she was just being humble, or perhaps being polite for my sake. It seemed hard to believe, but I’m not sure she realized just how beautiful she was.
From day one it seemed clear that figure art was something that she wanted to try and she wasn’t going to be discouraged by those who tried to talk her out of it. Our great first session turned in to quite a few. I was thoroughly inspired by her personally, and was inspired to improve my technical skills as a photographer to do her justice. Her confidence, and mine, grew with each session, which I think is reflected in her pictures. Her photos quickly became some of the most popular in my portfolio and she became very popular in the modeling community (which, unfortunately, can also come with some headaches). She remained undeterred – the way she was when I first met her.
A number of our photos are among my all-time-favourites. I’m immensely proud of these shots and proud of her. I have been blessed to be able to work with her and am grateful to have been able to contribute to her realizing the strength and beauty she possesses.
With appreciation, admiration, and sincerity,
July 2013
